The Shatta Movement Empire has issued an apology to the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled following an incident where Shatta Wale was captured on video seemingly mocking the disability of fellow musician Stonebwoy.

In a letter addressed to the GSPD and signed by Shatta Wale’s manager Samuel Atuobi Baah, it was clarified that the intention was not to make fun of or belittle individuals with disabilities. The manager, known as Sammy Flex, stated that the purpose behind Shatta Wale’s actions was to emphasize the importance of showing respect to others and maintaining proper conduct.

Acknowledging the concerns raised, Sammy Flex expressed regret for any insensitivity in the wording of the statement and affirmed the value and respect the Shatta Movement has for individuals with disabilities in society. He reiterated the commitment to promoting inclusivity and understanding, promising to be more mindful of their words and actions in the future.

The incident took place at the Fadama Sallah Fest, where Shatta Wale criticized Stonebwoy for his absence at the event, using derogatory language and making fun of his limp. The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled condemned Shatta Wale’s behavior as irresponsible and potentially harmful to the mental health of the physically disabled community.

In response to the backlash, Shatta Wale and his team have issued a formal apology to the GSPD, expressing their commitment to promoting inclusivity and creating a more inclusive environment for all, regardless of disabilities. The GSPD has accepted the apology and thanked the disability community for their patience and stakeholders for their support, emphasizing the importance of working together to ensure inclusivity for all individuals.
