Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, a young player of Ghanaian descent, made a significant impact on Sunday evening, scoring a goal to help his team defeat Newport 4-2 in the English FA Cup.

Despite being a lower-tier outfit, Newport put up a tough fight against the English Premier League side in their Round 4 encounter. It was Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes who got Manchester United on the scoreboard in the 7th minute.

But it was Kobbie Mainoo who stole the show when he doubled the lead for Manchester United just five minutes later with a well-taken goal. However, Newport fought back with goals from Bryn Morris and Will Evans in the 36th and 47th minutes, bringing the score level.

But in the second half, Manchester United managed to regain control of the game, eventually scoring two more goals to secure the win.

Antony netted the third goal for the team, and striker Rasmus Højlund also found the back of the net, sealing a 4-2 victory for the Red Devils and sending them to the next round of the English FA Cup.

It was a significant game for Kobbie Mainoo, as his goal on Sunday marked his first senior goal for Manchester United in a competitive match.
