Equatorial Guinea’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Golden Boot winner, Emilio Nsue, has made scathing remarks against the Equatorial Guinea Football Federation, accusing them of mismanagement and unfair treatment of the national men’s football team during the tournament in Cote D’Ivoire.

Despite finishing as the top goal scorer, Nsue’s comments were sparked by his country’s disappointing round of 16 exit to Guinea, where he missed a crucial penalty kick.

The veteran forward took to Instagram to voice his grievances, alleging that players had to provide their own outfits and equipment for the national team, claiming that the Federation threatened and extorted money from local players.

Nsue also criticized the FA for their plans to bring in Brazilian players and accused them of taking money and leaving the national team in bad conditions.

These accusations have stirred controversy, with Nsue expressing disappointment at the lack of support and gratitude from his home country.
