‘Witch hunt based on meritless accusations’ – Diddy’s lawyer criticises search of mogul’s homes

Lawyer of Sean “Diddy” Combs, the well-known rapper, producer, and entrepreneur, has come out swinging against recent government raids on his properties in Miami and Los Angeles.

His attorney, Aaron Dyer, characterized the searches by investigators with the Department of Homeland Security as an “unprecedented ambush” and a “witch hunt.”

Dyer stated, “Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated. Mr. Combs cooperated with the authorities and was never detained.”

Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested or had their travel restricted. The attorney emphasized that there has been no finding of criminal or civil liability in any of the allegations against Combs.

The search and seizure of Combs’ properties were confirmed by Homeland Security Investigations, citing an ongoing investigation. The allegations against Combs stem from various lawsuits related to sexual assault, including accusations made by R&B singer Cassie, who dated Combs for years and filed a lawsuit in November.

These allegations led to Combs resigning as chairman of Revolt and the cancellation of his Hulu reality show. Another lawsuit, filed in December, alleges that Combs gang-raped a 17-year-old girl in 2003.

The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, accused Combs of a “sex trafficking scheme” involving her being flown by private jet from Michigan to New York.
