Rebel Wilson, the Australian-born actress, made headlines recently when she revealed that she lost her virginity at the age of 35.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Wilson shared that she included this personal story in her upcoming memoir, “Rebel Rising,” which is set to be released on April 2.

The 44-year-old actress hopes that by sharing her experience, she can send a positive message to others, especially young people. Wilson emphasized that there is no set timeline for when someone should lose their virginity and that individuals should wait until they feel ready or more mature.

Reflecting on her own journey, Wilson admitted that she avoided discussing the topic of losing her virginity as a teenager because she felt embarrassed. She recalled telling her best friend that she lost her virginity at the age of 23 just to avoid further questions.

Wilson described herself as a “late bloomer” but believes that if she had been born 20 years later, her exploration of sexuality would have been different. She expressed gratitude for being engaged to designer Ramona Agruma and becoming a mother to Royce Lillian through surrogacy in November 2022.

Through her memoir and candid interviews, Wilson hopes to inspire others to embrace their unique journey and not feel pressured to conform to societal expectations.
