Get ready for some new music from Beyoncé! The singer recently revealed the tracklist for her upcoming album, “Act 2: Cowboy Carter,” on Instagram. Fans can look forward to tracks like “Texas Hold ‘Em,” “16 Carriages,” and possibly a cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”
One of the songs on the album, “The Linda Martell Show,” pays tribute to Linda Martell, the first commercially successful Black female country music artist. Martell’s career from 1969 to 1975 is explored in the documentary “Bad Case of the Country Blues.”
It’s still unclear if Martell, now 82, will make an appearance on Beyoncé’s album. Fans are also wondering if Dolly Parton or Willie Nelson will be featured on the project.
In a recent interview with Knox News, Parton hinted at Beyoncé covering her song “Jolene.” “I think she has! I think she’s recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’s probably gonna be on her country album, which I’m very excited about,” Parton said. She also expressed her admiration for Beyoncé, calling her a “beautiful girl and a great singer.”
“Act II: Cowboy Carter” is scheduled to be released on March 29th, so mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy some new music from Queen Bey!
