Speculation is rife once again over who will take on the iconic role of James Bond, with reports indicating that British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been offered the role. The Sun has claimed that the actor, known for his roles in Kick-Ass and Marvel films, has been “formally offered the job” as the next 007 spy, following Daniel Craig’s departure from the role in 2021.

The next James Bond film will be the 26th installment in the franchise, following the release of No Time to Die. Taylor-Johnson, 33, who recently won a Golden Globe for his role in the thriller Nocturnal Animals, is currently the favorite with bookmakers to play the iconic spy.

In an interview with Numero magazine, Taylor-Johnson expressed his gratitude for being considered for the role, calling it a “great compliment.” Other actors rumored to be in contention for the role include Henry Cavill, known for his roles in Super Man and Mission: Impossible, and Damson Idris, best known for his role in the TV crime drama Snowfall.

Despite the speculation, producers do not always choose the biggest names for the role, as demonstrated by Daniel Craig’s casting after Pierce Brosnan’s tenure. With several actors vying for the role, including James Norton and Tom Hardy, the question of who will be the next James Bond remains unanswered.

Former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has voiced his support for Cillian Murphy and Regé-Jean Page to take on the role, adding to the intrigue surrounding the casting decision. As fans eagerly await the announcement of the next James Bond, the debate over who will step into the iconic role continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
