The episode that aired recently was a tribute dedicated to Ducky. For that episode, the crime drama’s producers brought back Michael Weatherly, 55, to reprise his role as the skilled special agent, Tony DiNozzo.

It was an emotional moment for many fans as they took to X to reveal how deeply they were touched by Ducky’s tribute episode.

Many online users admitted to feeling emotional while watching the show earlier in the week. Fans mentioned that they missed Ducky and would forever remember the impact that he and his character had on the show.

The seasoned actor celebrated his birthday less than a week before his death. He starred in the 1960s show The Man From U.N.C.L.E, and NCIS, a spin-off of the television show JAG that premiered two decades ago.

The show’s executive producers released a statement saying “For over twenty years, David McCallum endeared himself to audiences around the world playing the wise, quirky, and sometimes enigmatic, Dr. Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard. But as much as his fans may have loved him, those who worked side by side with David loved him that much more”.
