Simon Adingra applauds Ivorian teammates after winning Afcon 2023

Ghanaian footballer, Simon Adingra, a graduate of the Right to Dream Academy, has praised his Ivorian teammates for their outstanding performance in winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Playing a key role for the Elephants throughout the tournament on home soil, the Brighton & Hove Albion forward started in the finals against Nigeria on Sunday night.

During the highly anticipated match, Adingra provided two crucial assists for Ivory Coast, helping the team come from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at the end of the 90 minutes.

Following the historic win, Adingra expressed his admiration for his fellow Ivorian players, attributing the success to their collective effort in making the country proud.

“We did it together, we’re Africa champions and it’s incredible. I’ve just experienced one of the most beautiful moments of my life, and that’s down to the effort of everyone in the team,” Adingra remarked, as quoted on CAFOnline.

At just 22 years old, Simon Adingra is expected to return to Brighton with heightened value after his impressive performance at the Africa Cup of Nations.
