South Africa’s Bafana Bafana pulled off an impressive upset in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, knocking out one of the favourites, Morocco, with a 2-0 victory.

Despite Morocco’s dominance in the game, with no goals in the first half, the Bafana Bafana’s Evidence Makgopa scored in the 57th minute to take the lead against the run of play.

In the 85th minute, Morocco had a chance to level the score with a penalty, but Achraf Hakimi’s kick hit the crossbar and went out of play.
