Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah is advocating for the reformation of Ghana’s Football Association and believes it should be dissolved and reordered.

She is of the view that the local football league is failing and the current FA has done a poor job in managing football in the country.

During an interview on 3Music TV, Nana Aba Anamoah expressed her dissatisfaction with the current state of football in Ghana. She cited the poor performance of the local league and criticized the failure of leaders such as Kurt Okraku and Henry Asante Twum to improve the state of football in the country. She emphasized that the local league is the real problem and not the Black Stars.

The call for reformation comes in light of a recent demonstration by Ghanaians, spearheaded by sports journalists Saddick Adams, Veronica Commey, and Patrick Osei Agyemang, urging for drastic measures to address the decline of football in Ghana. The protesters are specifically demanding accountability, development of a national policy, structural reforms, and disbandment of management committees to revive the football industry.

Moreover, Nana Aba Anamoah suggested that the current FA should be dissolved and a ban from FIFA should be sought in order to bring about an orderly restructuring of the association. She stressed the importance of placing qualified and competent individuals in leadership positions to effectively revitalize the football league.

These developments are indicative of growing concerns over the state of football in Ghana, with the Black Stars’ disappointing performance at the 34th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the recurring failure to progress from the group stages in consecutive major tournaments. The conveners of the recent demonstration presented a 15-point petition to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, outlining the urgent need for interventions in the football sector.
