The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Prosper Harrison Addo, has addressed concerns regarding the involvement of former Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah in the selection process for the new coach of the Black Stars.

There were concerns raised over Appiah’s exclusion from a recently formed five-member committee tasked with identifying a suitable candidate for the coaching role.

Addo has reassured the public that despite not being directly on the committee, Kwasi Appiah will still play a significant role in the decision-making process.

As a member of the GFA Executive Council, Appiah will participate in the deliberations and decision-making before the final announcement of the new coach.

Addo stated, “Kwasi Appiah, as a member of the GFA EXCO, will be part of the deliberations and decision-making before we announce a new coach.”

The formation of the committee comes after the dismissal of Chris Hughton in the aftermath of Ghana’s disappointing performance at the AFCON 2023 tournament.

This underlines the GFA’s dedication to finding a capable leader to guide the Black Stars forward.
