The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has expressed his strong desire for the Black Stars to secure qualification to every World Cup tournament, with a specific focus on the 2026 edition which will be co-hosted by Mexico, Canada and the USA.

After the initial two group games, Ghana currently has three points in Group I, having secured one win and suffered one defeat.

The Black Stars managed to clinch a narrow victory over Madagascar at the Baba Yara Stadium, but unfortunately, they were unable to maintain their winning streak as they fell to a defeat against Comoros.

Comoros has proven to be a formidable opponent, securing back-to-back wins against Ghana in recent meetings. In the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Comoros emerged victorious over the Black Stars with a narrow 1-0 win at the Stade Malouzini in Moroni during the matchday two clash.

Currently, Comoros sits at the top of the Group I standings with a perfect record of 6 points from two games.

During the ‘Meet the Press’ event in Kumasi, Okraku reiterated the importance of Ghana’s consistent qualification for the World Cup and pledged to make every effort to ensure the Black Stars’ participation in the global showpiece.
