Joseph Paintsil, the Ghanaian international, has revealed his excitement at the prospect of playing for Major League Soccer outfit LA Galaxy following his transfer to the club.
Paintsil has inked a four-year deal, making him a Designated Player for the Galaxy until the end of the 2027 MLS season. This move comes after his time at Belgian Pro League side K.R.C. Genk.
Speaking about his move, Paintsil said, “Hi, my name is Joseph Paintsil, I can’t wait to get started, see you soon.”
With an impressive record of 61 goals and 35 assists in 228 matches across various clubs in Europe, including stints at K.R.C. Genk (2019-23), MKE Ankaragucu (2020-21), and Ferencvarosi TC (2017-18), the 26-year-old arrives at LA Galaxy with high expectations.
During the 2022-23 season, Paintsil made a significant impact with 32 goal contributions (18 goals, 14 assists) in 39 matches for Genk. His standout performance, which included 28 goal contributions (14 goals, 14 assists) in 30 league appearances during the 2022-23 Belgian Pro League season, played a crucial role in Genk’s qualification for the 2023-24 Europa Conference League.
