Hearts to play RTU in Accra following NSA approval

Hearts of Oak has received approval from the National Sports Authority (NSA) to host Real Tamale United (RTU) at the Accra Sports Stadium this Sunday. This will be the first Ghana Premier League game at the stadium following the closure of the facility by the NSA. The closure forced Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics, and lower tier clubs to find alternative venues for their matches. Notably, Hearts of Oak had to host the super clash against Asante Kotoko and the Ga Mashie Derby at Kumasi’s Baba Yara Stadium due to the closure.

After being closed for a period, the NSA opened the Accra Sports Stadium for the Black Queens to use for their training ahead of the third round Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier against Zambia, set to kick off at 4 PM on Friday.

This development will certainly be welcomed by fans and players alike, as the reopening of the Accra Sports Stadium will provide a sense of normalcy and allow teams to resume playing at the historic venue.
