Ghana’s U-20 national football team, the Black Satellites, emerged victorious in a preparatory game against Ebusua Dwarfs, a lower-tier team. The team wrapped up their preparations in the Central Region with a convincing 3-1 win over the former Ghana Premier League outfit.
Jerry Afriyie was the star of the game, scoring two goals for the Black Satellites, while Michael Ephson of Samartex also found the back of the net, sealing victory for Desmond Offei’s side. Although Ebusua Dwarfs managed to get a consolation goal from the penalty spot in the second half, the Black Satellites’ dominance was clear.
The victory comes as the team gears up for the upcoming African Games, which will be hosted by Ghana from March 8 to 22. The Black Satellites have their sights set on topping the medal table at the multi-sport event and will be looking to carry the momentum from this preparatory game into the tournament.
In the upcoming African Games, the Black Satellites have been drawn in Group A, where they will face off against Congo, Benin, and Gambia. With their recent victory under their belt, the team will be aiming to continue their winning streak and make their mark at the African Games.
