Ghanaian midfielder Hiram Kojo Boateng was instrumental in Mansfield Town’s impressive victory over Harrogate Town in the English League Two.

Boateng, who was born in England, put on an exceptional performance as he scored a hat-trick to lead his team to a sensational 9-2 win at the One Call Stadium on Tuesday.

After English veteran forward Lucas Akins converted a spot kick to give Mansfield Town the lead, Boateng added his side’s second and third goals within a span of 10 minutes. Tom Nichols and Davis Keillor-Dunn also found the back of the net before halftime, doubling their advantage in the game.

Despite George Thomson and Abraham Odoh scoring to reduce the deficit for Harrogate, Boateng notched his third goal of the match five minutes into the second half. Akins and Swan then added more goals to round off the historic victory for Mansfield.

As a result of this emphatic win, Mansfield Town has closed in on top spot in the League Two standings and equaled the club’s all-time record league win from 1932 by overcoming in-form Harrogate.
