Ghana midfielder Elisha Owusu sees red in France

Elisha Owusu, a player representing Ghana in international football, was unfortunately given a red card in a match between his club Auxerre and Angers in the French Ligue 2 this past Saturday.

This Black Stars midfielder received two yellow cards which resulted in his expulsion from the game before halftime in this highly anticipated match.

Owusu’s two yellow cards were given in quick succession, just three minutes apart, leading to his dismissal during the 24th week of the French second-tier league.

The first yellow card was shown on the 33rd minute, and the second followed on the 36th minute mark.

Although losing Owusu to the red card, Auxerre managed to secure a victory over Angers, earning themselves three valuable points at the Stade de l’Abbé Deschamps.

It was Brazilian international Jubal who emerged as the hero for Auxerre, stepping up to score the winning goal during added time of the game.

In the 22 games played across different competitions, the 26-year-old Ghanaian midfielder has scored one goal and provided two assists for his team.
