Karela United’s interim coach, Abukari Damba, has expressed his delight after his team secured a clean sheet in their first game under his leadership.
The team secured a 2-0 victory over Asante Kotoko in the round of 16 of the Ghana FA Cup, propelling them to the quarterfinals.
Following the match, Abukari expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “Well, I must say it is quite refreshing because the aim of every game is to win and we have struggled in the past. All things being equal, I think registering two goals without conceding is something we should be very grateful for. Well done to my players.”
Karela United’s victory came through a second half goal by Solomon Aboagye, followed by another goal from Giyas in the 65th minute, securing their 2-0 win against Asante Kotoko. Despite the Porcupine Warriors’ efforts to score, they were unable to find the back of the net.
The team’s impressive performance under Damba’s leadership has set a positive tone for their future matches in the Ghana FA Cup.
