Former Chairman of the Asante Kotoko National Circles Council, Kwaku Amponsah, has expressed great confidence that the club will emerge as the champions of the Ghana Premier League this season.

Despite a shaky start to the campaign, the Porcupine Warriors showed significant improvement and ended the first half of the domestic top-flight campaign in third place.

The Premier League is set to resume this weekend, with Kotoko scheduled to face Heart of Lions in the week 18 fixture.

During an interview on Kessben FM, which was monitored by Footballghana.com, Amponsah, who is popularly known as Chairman K5, expressed his optimism regarding Kotoko’s chances of winning the Ghana Premier League title.

“Our main focus is on the Ghana Premier League because we are aiming to secure a spot in Africa next season and represent Ghana. It’s either you win the league or the FA Cup”

“Since we are out of the FA Cup, our only goal now is to win the league and secure a spot in Africa. I have full confidence that Kotoko will emerge victorious in the league,” he stated.
