Asamoah Gyan to become Sports Minister when Dr. Bawumia becomes president

Asamoah Gyan, the legendary Ghanaian footballer, was in attendance at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s National Address on Wednesday, February 7th, in Accra.

At the prestigious Kofi Ohene Konadu auditorium at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), the former Black Stars captain was among the notable attendees.

Gyan’s presence at the event, where the Vice President unveiled his vision for Ghana as he vies for the presidency, showcased his growing involvement in the country’s political landscape.

Sammi Awuku, CEO of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), has also spoken out about Gyan, urging Ghanaians to keep an eye on the iconic footballer.

During an interview with Asempa FM, Awuku stated, “Watch out for Asamoah Gyan. Dr. Bawumia loves people with ideas so watch out for Asamoah Gyan. He is his good friend. You will hear from him. He is one guy who has solid ideas in the area of sports. He is an iconic figure as well.”

The conversation sparked on social media following Awuku’s comments, with many Ghanaians speculating that Gyan might be considering a run for the position of Sports Minister if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is elected president after the 2024 General Election.
