Afcon 2023 is the ‘best’ organised in the history of the tournament – Kurt Okraku

President of WAFU Zone B, Kurt Okraku, has sent his congratulations to Cote d’Ivoire for emerging as the winners of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament. In a statement issued on behalf of the member countries in WAFU Zone B, Kurt Okraku also commended Cote d’Ivoire for hosting the best AFCON in the history of the tournament.

“On behalf of Wafu Zone B, big congratulations to Cote d’Ivoire for winning its third continental trophy and for organizing the best AFCON in the history of the competition,” Kurt Okraku said.

He also extended congratulations to all the countries from the Zone that took part in the 34th Edition of the TotalEnergies AFCON and to all the 24 nations that participated in the tournament. Kurt Okraku also expressed satisfaction in the fact that WAFU Zone B secured the top two positions with Nigeria joining Cote d’Ivoire on the podium.

Kurt Okraku, who is also the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), acknowledged that the Black Stars were unable to progress past the group stage at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
