The wife of the Vice President of Ghana Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Samira Bawumia has shared a never-seen white wedding photo to mark their 20th anniversary.
On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2024, Samira took social media by surprise when she shared what seemed to be white wedding photos of her and Bawumia on her Instagram page.
“Happy 20th wedding anniversary, @mbawumia. Thanking God for our journey so far. Happy Valentine’s Day, my love,” she captioned the photo.
Her post came as a little shock or surprise to many because it’s public knowledge that Bawumia and Samira are Muslims.
Social media users and followers started questioning the photos and their religion.
“Nice but were they Christians during their wedding ? Coz this doesn’t look like awure. Happy anniversary to them,” a follower asked.
Even though there was not a concrete answer to the white wedding and their religion, one common answer was that Muslim women are allowed to wear wedding gowns on their big day.
“Moslems wears gowns too! y’all needs to be enlightened,” an Instagram user said.
Nevertheless, congrats to Bawumia and Samira on their 20th marriage anniversary.
