Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has expressed his belief that if President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is considering a reshuffle of his ministers, it is due to pressure from his political party.
He pointed out that the president has previously stated that he does not believe in reshuffling ministers, so any decision to do so would be a result of pressure from the New Patriotic Party and not his personal will.
According to Iddrisu, reshuffling is a common practice in every government around the world, as it brings in new perspectives and prevents ministers from becoming complacent.
This move, if implemented, would be a response to internal party dynamics and not the president’s own preference.
It is yet to be seen whether a reshuffle will indeed take place, but Iddrisu’s comments shed light on the political considerations that may be at play behind the scenes.
