Snoop Dogg has shared the heartbreaking news that his half-brother, Bing Worthington, has passed away at the age of 44. The “Gin and Juice” rapper posted a series of emotional tributes to Worthington on Instagram.
In one of the tributes, Snoop captioned a picture of them in a dressing room, “💙🙏🏾😢 u bac with moms,” referring to the recent death of their mother, Beverly Tate, who died at the age of 70 in October 2021.
Snoop also shared a photo of him and Worthington with their other brother, Jerry, in a cemetery.
Worthington was an integral part of Snoop’s professional life, having worked as a roadie before becoming his tour manager. He spoke candidly in a 2016 interview with Vice about starting at the bottom and working his way up in the music industry.
“Even though I’m [Snoop’s] brother he didn’t give me a top-ranked position. You can’t just become a president without knowing anything about being the president. You have to learn,” he said.
In addition to his work with Snoop, Worthington had his own music group called Lifestyle. Their song “Tha Jump Off” was featured in the 2006 rom-com “Van Wilder 2.” He also dabbled in entrepreneurship, working on various projects including Snoop’s 1966 Cadillac DeVille and Dogg Skateboards.
The news of Worthington’s passing prompted an outpouring of support for Snoop from his famous friends, with many taking to Instagram to express their condolences.
This loss comes as another difficult moment for Snoop following the death of his mother just last year. Our thoughts and prayers are with Snoop and his family during this challenging time.
