Rob Burrow’s widow Lindsey shares moving tribute to rugby league star

After the passing of rugby legend, Rob Burrow, his devastated wife Lindsey has shared a heartfelt tribute to her late husband. Rob, who battled bravely with motor neurone disease, was described by his widow as “simply the best.”

Lindsey expressed her pride in Rob’s tireless efforts to raise awareness for MND charities and thanked the Rugby League community for their support. She emphasized her commitment to raising their three children as Rob would have wanted, ensuring their happiness and well-being.

In her statement, Lindsey said, “My priority is to make Rob proud and to keep his legacy alive. We will continue to ‘bang the drum’ and help others in his honor.”

Recently, the Rob Burrow Centre for MND was opened at Seacroft Hospital, fulfilling Rob’s wish for a facility to support those with the disease. The emotional ceremony was attended by close friends and family, who paid tribute to Rob’s resilience in the face of adversity.

Throughout his battle with MND, Rob inspired countless individuals with his courage and determination. The Leeds Rhinos player, known for his fearless performances, was a beacon of strength in the MND community.

Despite his diagnosis in 2019, Rob continued to defy expectations and live life to the fullest.
