Rapper Julio Foolio, whose real name is Charles Jones, tragically passed away after being shot along with three other individuals while celebrating his 26th birthday.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by Foolio’s attorney Lewis Fusco on Sunday.
The rapper, known for his drill rap videos featuring violent lyrics about murders and rival gangs in Jacksonville, was fatally shot at the parking lot of a Holiday Inn in Tampa, Florida on Friday night while attempting to secure a room at the hotel.
This tragic incident resulted in Foolio being wounded and succumbing to his injuries on Sunday after spending a day in the hospital.
The Tampa Police Department is currently investigating the shooting, with authorities seeking witnesses and surveillance footage to piece together the events leading up to the deadly altercation. Foolio’s reported girlfriend expressed her grief on social media, blaming those responsible for taking her boyfriend away.
