Hollywood and Broadway have lost a legend as Janis Paige, the Golden Age actress, passed away at 101 at her Los Angeles home. Her friend Stuart Lampert confirmed that she died of natural causes on Sunday.
Janis Paige’s career was filled with memorable moments, from starring on Broadway with Jackie Cooper in “Remains to be Seen” to her role alongside John Raitt in the hit musical “The Pajama Game.”
Her work in films included appearances in “Bachelor in Paradise,” “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies,” and “Follow the Boys.”
In addition to her acting career, Paige also spoke out as part of the #MeToo movement in 2018, bravely sharing her own story of assault by late department-store heir Alfred Bloomingdale when she was 22.
Despite the challenges she faced, Janis Paige never gave up on her passion for entertaining.
From her big break at the Hollywood Canteen to her time on Broadway, she touched the hearts of many with her talent and dedication to her craft.
