Angela Chao, the CEO of the Foremost shipping company, sadly has passed away in a car crash.
Angela Chao, who was the daughter of Foremost founder James SC Chao and sister-in-law of Senator Mitch McConnell, was remembered for being a trailblazer in the maritime industry.
Foremost Group confirmed her tragic death in a statement.
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy expressed their condolences on social media, referring to her as a “trailblazer in the maritime industry”.
Angela Chao graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Business School before working at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. She joined her father as the CEO of Foremost in 2018.
Angela Chao’s father, James SC Chao, released a statement following her death, calling her “a charismatic and visionary leader”.
Elaine Chao, Angela’s sister, served in the White House as the secretary of labor for the George W Bush administration and the secretary of transportation for Trump’s administration.
Angela Chao is survived by her father, her husband, and four sisters, after her mother Ruth Mulan Chu Chao passed away in 2007.”
