Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team has stated that Independent Presidential Aspirant, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, will not have a significant impact on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) votes in the Ashanti region ahead of the December elections.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a prominent member of Dr. Bawumia’s team, dismissed Mr. Kyerematen’s ability to reduce Dr. Bawumia’s support in the region. He stated that Mr. Kyerematen’s claims of popularity in the region are exaggerated and expressed confidence that the outcome of the upcoming polls will prove this.

During an interview with Citi TV, Mr. Aboagye emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s team is fully committed and determined to secure victory. He also mentioned that the party is not complacent and would integrate the Movement for Change leader into their strategies if he is listed on the ballot.

Mr. Aboagye acknowledged the established dominance of the NPP and NDC in Ghana’s political landscape, emphasizing the considerable challenge for any new political party to rival their status. He believes that it will take another political party 20 to 30 years to achieve the level of NDC and NPP.

The comments from Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team come amidst the upcoming elections and the potential impact of Independent Presidential Aspirant, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen. It remains to be seen how Mr. Kyerematen’s presence on the ballot will affect the NPP’s support in the Ashanti region and the overall outcome of the elections.
