Renowned Nollywood actor Zack Orji recently revealed that his marriage faced challenges following his role in the 1994 film “Glamour Girls.” The film, directed by Chika Onukwufor, depicted the lives of independent single women in Nigeria’s patriarchal society who turned to escort services.
In a podcast interview titled “Nollywood Hardcore: The Legend’s Untold Story,” Orji shared how a controversial nude scene with actress Eucharia Anunobi in the movie caused rumors and backlash. These negative stories about his role in the film were fed to his wife, leading to tensions in their marriage and even resulting in Orji being suspended from church activities.
Despite his wife’s understanding of the acting profession, she objected to the erotic bathtub scene he was part of with Anunobi. Orji admitted that the pressure his wife faced due to the circulating stories affected their relationship, with people putting doubts in her mind.
However, the couple managed to overcome the setback and move forward. Reflecting on the impact of the film on his personal life, Orji emphasized the challenges his marriage faced but expressed gratitude for their ability to navigate through the difficult period.
