Nigerian artist Inkboy calls out Sarkodie for long overdue royalties

Inkboy, a Nigerian musician, recently took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie over unpaid royalties for their collaborative track ‘One Million Cedis’.

The song, which was a standout on Sarkodie’s ‘Jamz’ album, has allegedly not resulted in Inkboy receiving his fair share of earnings even a year after its release.

On April 27, Inkboy aired his grievances on X (formerly Twitter), stating that while resorting to a public outcry was not his preferred method, it had become necessary due to the circumstances. He directly called out Sarkodie, urging him to fulfill their agreement and compensate him for the royalties that were overdue.

The situation has not only strained the professional relationship between the two artists but has also led to backlash from Sarkodie’s fanbase towards Inkboy for raising the issue publicly. Despite facing criticism, Inkboy stands firm in his demand for what he believes is rightfully owed to him.

As tensions continue to rise, the focus is now on Sarkodie to address these allegations and meet his obligations to Inkboy for their joint success.
