The Lagos State Government has recently received the toxicology test results conducted to determine the cause of death of late music star Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. The test results have now been handed over to the police authorities for further action.
The untimely death of Mohbad at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023, had caused a stir on social media, with speculations and controversies surrounding the circumstances of his passing. Following his death, the CEO of Marlian Music, Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, were arrested in connection with the case.
In response to the public outcry, the Lagos State Police Command established a 13-man special investigation team on September 18, 2023, to delve deeper into the singer’s demise. However, both Naira Marley and Sam Larry were later released on bail pending the trial process.
To shed light on the cause of Mohbad’s death, his body was exhumed for an autopsy on September 21, 2023. The coroner’s court in Ikorodu revealed that while the external body autopsy had been completed in November 2023, the toxicology test, which delves into the internal body, was conducted in the United States of America.
A source within the state government disclosed that the toxicology test results were recently sent to the state DNA and Forensic Centre for analysis. The outcome of this crucial test will provide further insights into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s tragic passing.
