Iconic former Bolton player Tommy Banks has passed away at the age of 94, leaving fans mourning the loss of a legend.

Tommy Banks will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Bolton fans for his role in the club’s historic 1958 FA Cup victory against Manchester United.
His exceptional performance on the field was instrumental in securing a 2-0 victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup final, watched by nearly 100,000 spectators.
Aside from his club success, Banks also earned international recognition, representing England six times and participating in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden under Walter Winterbottom.
Together with his Bolton teammate Eddie Hopkinson, Banks showcased his remarkable skill on the world stage.
Throughout his football career, Banks made 255 appearances for Bolton before retiring. He then returned to his hometown of Farnworth, focusing on the building trade and spending quality time with his family.
Bolton Wanderers also expressed their sorrow at Banks’ passing, highlighting his significant contributions to the club’s history and promising to honor his memory at an upcoming event.
