Taylor Swift fans are in a frenzy as her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, has allegedly leaked online a day before its official release.

The 17-song list has been circulating on social media, with some claiming to have obtained the tracks through a Google Drive link.

While some fans have eagerly listened to the leaked music, others believe in waiting for the official release on Friday to support the artist. The BBC has reached out to Swift’s representatives for comment on the leak.

The singer announced her 11th studio album at the Grammy Awards earlier this year, marking her first collection of new material since October 2022’s Midnights. The anticipation for the album has been high among Swifties, with many looking forward to adding new songs to the star’s blockbuster Eras tour this summer.

Some fans on social media have expressed their disappointment in the leak, urging others to respect the hard work put in by Swift and her team for the album’s release. There have been speculations that some of the leaked tracks could be fake or old Swift songs generated by artificial intelligence.

This isn’t the first time the singer has had a brush with AI, as X previously blocked searches for “Taylor Swift” after explicit AI-generated images of her circulated online. Despite the leak of her previous album, Midnights, the album still performed well commercially and went on to win album of the year at the Grammys.

In other news, Swift recently made it to the Forbes World’s Billionaires List for the first time, joining other wealthy individuals like Elon Musk. The pop star’s entry into the billionaire club is attributed to her successful music career, with hits that have resonated with fans worldwide.
