Thatcher Demko, the renowned ice hockey star for the Vancouver Canucks, is not the only one in the family with a passion for the sport. His wife, Lexie Shaw, is also deeply ingrained in the world of ice hockey.
Lexie, originally from Troy, Michigan, has a background in real estate but is no stranger to the ice rink. She played ice hockey during her college years and even worked as an instructor at Point Blank Hockey School. Lexie was a standout player on the women’s ice hockey team at the University of North Dakota and was named Defensive Player of the Month in October 2016 before graduating in 2017.
After completing her college education, Lexie transitioned into the world of real estate and joined RE/MAX Defined as part of The Shaw Team. She has been balancing her successful career in real estate with her role as a supportive wife to Thatcher.
Thatcher and Lexie tied the knot in July 2022 in a small ceremony in San Diego, California. The couple had been dating since 2019 and got engaged in August 2021. Their love has only grown stronger over the years, culminating in the arrival of their son, Dawson, in August 2023.
Lexie frequently shares photos of Dawson on social media, showcasing their love for their little one. Dawson has been seen cheering on his father at hockey games, proudly sporting a t-shirt with “Daddy” written on it and his father’s numbers on the back during the 2024 All-Star Weekend.
The Demko-Shaw family is a true testament to the power of love, commitment, and a shared passion for ice hockey. Lexie’s journey from college ice hockey player to successful real estate agent and devoted mother is an inspiration to many, and her story continues to capture the hearts of fans everywhere.
