Atlanta Falcons former quarterback, Matt Ryan, has been making headlines not only for his impressive plays on the field but also for his life off the field.
Fans are particularly curious about his marriage to his wife, Sarah Marshall-Ryan.
Matt Ryan met Sarah Marshall while they were both attending Boston College from 2003 to 2007. Sarah recalled their first meeting, saying, “We met freshman year at Boston College. All the athletes there and all the teams worked out in the same building. So as cliche as it sounds, we first met in the weight room.”
Their friendship blossomed into a relationship that eventually led to marriage in 2011.
After years of being together, Matt and Sarah announced on Instagram in 2017 that they were expecting twins. The couple welcomed their twins, Marshall and Johnny, on April 8, 2018, sharing the exciting news with their followers on social media.
In April 2024, after 15 seasons in the NFL, Matt Ryan officially announced his retirement. He played the majority of his career with the Atlanta Falcons before being traded to the Indiana Colts in 2022.
Despite his time with other teams, Ryan chose to retire as a Falcon, signing a one-day contract with Atlanta and announcing his decision in a video posted on the team’s social media.
Reflecting on his career, Ryan expressed gratitude for being able to start and finish his NFL journey in Atlanta, stating, “You have no control in this profession in where you start. I am so lucky that my start and my finish was here in Atlanta.”
