Bawumia’s manifesto committee: I’m still non-partisan – Okyeame Kwame tells critics

Renowned Hiplife artist Okyeame Kwame has dismissed rumors suggesting that he has received payment to join the manifesto committee of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Okyeame Kwame is part of the fifteen-member New Patriotic Party Manifesto Committee focusing on tourism, arts, and culture.

The committee includes individuals such as former Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Catherine Abelema Afeku, Dr. Ama Boafo-Arthur, and the founder of Glitz Style Awards, Claudia Lumor, among others.

Additionally, Nana Yaw Manteaw, Yaa Pokua Baiden, and Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu (KOKA) are part of the committee.

In a statement posted on ghanaweekend.com, Okyeame Kwame clarified that despite his involvement in the committee, he remains neutral and is willing to provide professional advice to any political party in Ghana.

He expressed gratitude to Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team for considering his expertise and intellect for the committee but emphasized that he has not received any payment for his participation.

The artist stated, “Indeed, when it comes to contributing policy opinion towards the advancement of the Arts and Culture in Ghana, I am respectfully open to all political or ideological persuasions, be they NPP, NDC, CPP, Independent, or other.”

Okyeame Kwame reassured his fans of his commitment to serving Ghana through his skills and expertise, remaining non-partisan and loyal to his country.
