The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has announced plans to construct two first-class pitches at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence at Prampram, with construction set to start in August of this year.
“We are still investing in the game for the construction of two natural first-class pitches at the Technical Centre, this work will start in August and it will add up to the existing pitch infrastructure we have in Prampram,” Kurt Okraku said.
The facility, which will be funded by proceeds from FIFA Forward 2.0, is expected to host Premier League and lower Division matches and provide a platform for players in the country to develop their talents and skills. The project will also address issues identified in the betPawa pitch.
This development is a positive step towards providing better infrastructure and resources for the development of football in Ghana, and is sure to have a positive impact on the sport in the country.
