The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has denied reports claiming that an offer has been made to coach Amir Abdou to become the new head coach of the Black Stars.
Various sources had suggested that the GFA was offering coach Amir Abdou a $45,000 per month salary to take over as head coach for the national team.
However, GFA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo has refuted these reports, stating that there has been no approach from the football association.
“It’s never true that Ghana has approached Amir Abdou for the Black Stars job. How much did we (Ghana) pay Akwasi Appiah and Chris Hughton to think of paying Amir Abdou $45,000,” said Prosper Harrison Addo in an interview with Akoma FM.
The GFA is currently in search of a new head coach after sacking Chris Hughton following Ghana’s disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
It has been reported that over 600 coaches have already applied for the vacant position.
