Black Entertainment Television (BET) has announced the nominees for this year’s BET Awards.
This year, Canadian rapper and singer Drake led the nominations with seven nods. His nominations include ‘Best Male Hip Hop Artist,’ ‘Best Male R&B/Pop Artist,’ ‘Best Group’ with 21 Savage, ‘Best Collaboration’ with Future and Tems (“Wait for U”), ‘Album of the Year,’ for Her Loss with 21 Savage, and ‘Viewer’s Choice Award,’ for Jimmy Cook with 21 Savage, and his feature on Wait For You with Future and Tems.
However, one of the most important and competitive categories in the awards scheme, Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act, saw some huge surprises.
Ghanaian musician Camidoh earned his first nomination in the category after his massive success in the 2022-2023 calendar year. Another strong contender is Nigerian afrobeats multiple hitmaker Asake who is ahead of Camidoh in terms of overall performance.
