The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council has announced that it will be holding a press conference at the Lancaster Hotel in Kumasi on Wednesday, February 7, starting at 9 AM. GFA President Kurt Okraku and GFA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo are expected to be present at the conference.

The decision to hold the press conference comes on the back of Ghana’s disappointing performance at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire, where the Black Stars failed to secure a victory in three matches. The team suffered a 1-2 defeat to Cape Verde and squandered leads to draw 2-2 with Mozambique and Egypt, ultimately leading to an early exit from the group stage for the second consecutive AFCON edition.

During the press conference, GFA Executive members are expected to address several pressing issues. This includes the quest for a new head coach for the Black Stars, Ghana’s preparations for the 2023 African Games, and the commencement of the second round of the Ghana Premier League 2023-2024 season.

The GFA has come under fire and faced significant criticism due to the country’s lackluster football results under the leadership of Kurt Okraku. The press conference is expected to address the heightened scrutiny and discussions surrounding the future direction of Ghanaian football.
