DR Congo forward Yoane Wissa is proud of his team’s performance in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations and believes they are ready to represent their nation in the semi-finals.

Wissa’s crucial penalty helped DR Congo secure a 3-1 victory over Guinea in the quarter-finals, earning them a spot in the last four where they will face either Cote d’Ivoire or Mali.

As the man of the match, Wissa expressed his honor in being able to step up for his country when needed and emphasized his commitment to representing DR Congo at the highest level.

“I’m ready to play anywhere – attack, midfield, defence. When my country calls on me, I have to be there. I’m so proud to be Congolese,” Wissa told reporters.

With their eyes set on a third AFCON title and first since 1974, Wissa and his teammates are determined to make their nation proud.

Looking ahead to the semi-finals, Wissa stated that DR Congo has no preference over who they face next, acknowledging the strength of both Mali and Cote d’Ivoire.
