Gelson Dala, the Angola forward, is feeling confident as his team prepares to face Nigeria in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament on Friday.
Expressing his optimism, Dala warned the Super Eagles that Angola is ready to put up a tough fight in tomorrow’s match.
He believes that Angola has a strong chance of coming out victorious and advancing to the semi-finals of the 2023 AFCON.
“We will fight and make life hard for them. With our fans, we believe we can win,” Dala said as quoted on CAFOnline.
Angola’s head coach, Pedro Gonçalves, also conveyed his team’s respect for Nigeria but made it clear that they do not fear the Super Eagles.
“We respect Nigeria but fear nobody. The pressure is on them as the favorite,” Coach Pedro Gonçalves said.
The much-anticipated quarter-final match between Nigeria and Angola is scheduled to kick off at 5 pm tomorrow.
