The funeral ceremony for the beloved gospel musician, Kofi Dua Anto, known as KODA, has been rescheduled. Originally set for July 5, 2024, the burial service will now take place on September 20, 2024, at the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Dominion Centre on Spintex Road in Accra.
The change in date was announced by the family on KODA’s Facebook page on June 22. They stated, “We wish to inform all well-wishers, friends, ministry partners and the general public that the date for the celebration of life for our beloved brother Kofi Dua Anto has been changed from 5th July 2024 to 20th September 2024.”
Following the funeral service, a private burial ceremony will be held. KODA passed away on April 21, 2024, after a brief illness. The exact cause of his death was not disclosed.
At 45 years old, KODA has left behind his wife and three children. He was not just a singer but also a producer who made a significant impact on the Ghanaian music scene with songs like ‘Nsempii,’ ‘Nkwa Abodoo,’ ‘Yapai,’ and ‘Adorso.’ His music inspired hope and faith in his listeners.
The family has requested privacy during this time of mourning and healing. KODA’s legacy lives on through his music, touching the hearts of many with his uplifting and soul-stirring songs.
