Ghana`s highlife legend Ernest Nana Acheampong has unveiled the secrets for the split of the then Lumba brothers singing group saying it was for the good of the duo and nothing more.
Speaking in an interview on United Showbiz on UTV, Saturday, May 4, 2024, he said the Lumba brothers’ band which included another legend, Daddy Lumba was performing well at a time when his partner had to move to a different city while they were in Germany.
The highlife legend said the evacuation of Daddy Lumba to a different city made the work difficult so they decided to go separate ways since each of them could go solo at that time. He said splitting up the group has paid.
“I can boost of 30 albums likewise my brother Daddy Lumba so in all we have produced 60 albums in different genres for our beloved country Ghana. If we were together it means we could have produced 30 albums instead of 60”, the legend said in the interview with Miss Gee.
He further said, there is no conflict between them as perceived by their fans.
“There is no beef between us. You can even call him he will verify what I said. I haven’t offended him and he hasn’t offended me either we are still in touch with each other” ” he said.
Nana Acheampong and Daddy Lumba have together as Lumba brothers and individually produced quality music over the years which has yielded good patronage by Ghanaians.
Some of the songs that thrilled music lovers are, Yenka Ntam, Aban Nsa Akawo, Yee ye Aka Akwantuom, etc.
As a solo act, Nana Acheampong is known for songs like Casanova, Its Too Late, Woara Beba, Obi Dom Bie, etc.
On the other hand, Daddy Lumba is known for songs like Theresa, Sika Asem, Adaka Tia. Etc.
