Ghanaian musician Elom Adablah, also known as E.L., believes that there is still a future for rap music in Ghana. Despite the changing preferences of music listeners, E.L. remains optimistic that there is an audience that appreciates rap music.
In a recent interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, E.L. shared his thoughts on why rap music may not be as popular in West Africa compared to other regions. He noted that the attention span of the current market is short, and people are more interested in catchy songs with danceable tunes.
E.L. also revealed that he initially entered the music industry as a rapper but later transitioned to singing as he noticed that hit songs often came from the singing genre. He emphasized that rap music has not been as promoted as other genres worldwide, especially in Ghana where the rap industry does not have a strong foundation.
Despite these challenges, E.L. remains committed to rap music and believes that there is a community in Ghana that appreciates hip-hop music. He acknowledged that while the rap scene may not be as prominent in Ghana, there is still a dedicated fan base for the genre.
