Renowned Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage has finally spoken out about the ongoing rumors suggesting that she doesn’t support her female colleagues in the music industry. The singer decided to address the criticisms after a list of Afrobeats songs from female artists was compiled by Top Charts Africa.
The list featured several collaborations of Tiwa Savage with artists such as Waje, Ayra Starr, Amaare, and Becca. In response to the post, Tiwa Savage made it clear that the list was not exhaustive and many other collaborations were not included.
Expressing her frustration, Tiwa Savage wrote, “But they always want to say Tiwa Savage does not like or support female artists. Please who has more female collabs and there is so many more not even listed here. Yall miss me with that bull sh$t narrative, I dey hustle money on my mind [sic].”
Moreover, Tiwa Savage took to her Instagram story to share screenshots of her collaborations with female musicians from Africa and beyond. She also teased a new collaboration with her Nigerian colleague Simi titled ‘Men Are Crazy,’ which has sparked a mix of criticism and support from fans.
Tiwa Savage is actively working with and supporting her female peers in the music industry, debunking the claims of not supporting other women in the industry.
This bold move by the singer highlights her commitment to championing and uplifting female talent in the music scene.
