Ghanaian football fans had reason to celebrate as Andre Ayew, the Ghanaian captain, delivered a powerful performance in the French Ligue 1, scoring two goals to secure a draw for Le Havre against Lorient on Sunday.

Ayew, who had a disappointing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Stars, redeemed himself with a stellar performance, helping his team secure a crucial away point on Sunday afternoon.

The experienced skipper made a strong impact as he came on as a substitute in the 70th minute, displaying his skill and determination by scoring twice to earn a point for Le Havre in the late stages of the game.

The match saw a lot of action, with the visitors opening the scoring through Emmanuel Sabbi, who scored from the penalty spot. Imran Louz then equalized for Lorient, leading to a 1-1 score at halftime.

Lorient took the lead in the second half through Ayman Kari, but André Ayew once again showed his quality by scoring in the 85th minute to level the score for his team. The host appeared to secure a victory with a goal in the 92nd minute, but Ayew stepped up once more to level the score in the 94th minute, securing a draw for the visitors.

Since joining Le Havre as a free agent in November 2023, Ayew has made four appearances for the club. He had previously made two appearances for the Black Stars at the Africa Cup of Nations, where Ghana was eliminated at the group stage after failing to beat Mozambique in the final group game.
