Digital music service provider Mdundo hosted an industry mixer in Ghana over the weekend. The event brought together various industry players including artists like Amerado, Safo Newman, Ayisi, Rolly Panda, artiste manager Aubrey Mensa, Kofi Bruce, and members of the Lynx team.
Notable personalities such as Kwame Baah (CEO, Yves Digital), Emmanuel Appiagyei (Crux Global), and Robert Klah (PRO for CharterHouse) were also in attendance. The mixer, held at the Rehab Beach Club, aimed to create a networking platform for industry stakeholders to discuss the significance of Mdundo.com in the Ghanaian market.
Daniel Ahenkorah, Country Manager for Mdundo Ghana, led the event and emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between rights holders and the industry. He revealed that the mixer was a strategic move to strengthen the relationship with music rights holders and enhance the accessibility of Ghanaian music to consumers.
Mdundo.com’s mission is to support Ghanaian rights holders by providing revenue opportunities and ensuring easy access to music for consumers. The company also offers advertising revenue to rights holders as a source of income.
The industry mixer was hosted by music executive Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh and featured music from YFM’s DJ CueBeatz. Mdundo, an African-focused music download service based in Kenya, operates in sub-Saharan Africa and allows users to download music for free while offering rights holders advertising income.
